The South African Kendo Federation (SAKF)
The SAKF shall have as its main aims the promotion and development of Kendo, Iaido and Jodo in South Africa; the fostering of mutual trust, friendship and respect amongst its members and the active encouragement of international links and tours.

The SAKF shall be charged with the following activities and utilise its available funds in order to achieve the aims set out in 2.1.
2.2.1. To collect fees and seek donations and grants in order to fulfil its mandate.
2.2.2. Actively promote Kendo, Iaido and Jodo through development and promotional programs in order to contribute to the moral and physical wellbeing of all communities in South Africa.
2.2.3 Advise and assist in the setting up of clubs and dojos and ensuring their proper registration.
2.2.4. To ensure that international standards as laid down by the International Kendo Federation for competition and grading are adhered to.
2.2.5. To organise seminars, workshops and demonstrations.
2.2.6. To assist in procuring equipment and literature.
2.2.7. To exchange information and publish newsletters.
2.2 8. To organise visits by international teams.
2.2.9. To assist individuals when justified, to visit internationally for training and grading.
2.2.10. To recommend and apply for national colours for teams and individuals selected to represent South Africa.
2.2.11. To organise and monitor national trials and competitions
2.2.12. Organise national and regional competitions under IKF rules.
2.2.12 To ensure that the three disciplines of kendo, iaido and jodo are treated fairly and considered in every aspect and facet of SAKF responsibilities.
2.2 13. To undertake any other project that will assist in achieving the purpose as stated.
2.2.14. To maintain a current register of members and affiliates.
